For the most part, adapters are versatile, allowing very dissimilar fixed ports to play well together. Unfortunately, sometimes adapters are inconvenient. They can be heavy, clumsy, or insecure. In this case, all 3 maladies elicited a custom dust shroud for the Kreg Pocket Hole Master System ensuing in a lightweight and secure direct connection to my Festool CT dust extractor (or any 35mm hose).

actually if you have the small Dewalt vacum it fits that just right. And actually that is really the perfect size vacum and power for that.
So, this is a bit confusing. If I only have an STL file to publish to the 3D print services, it’s necessary to know how to scale it correctly to the dimensions right for the both the hose adapter part, and also for the dimensions where it fits onto the Kreg jig. Shouldn’t you be providing those to me as a guideline? Ie, “scale it to be X x Y x Z dimension?”. Surely you know what those numbers were when you drew it?
Ie, “download the part file and send it to…” isn’t exactly the complete process.
Wouldn’t you agree? Am I missing something here?
OK, now I understand. The dimensions are OK you just need to set the units to inches when you upload the model.
Still think you should call that out.

- When I load the STL file into shape ways (and Sculpteo), the dimension of the object is like 1/10th of an inch. Shouldn’t the full-size dimensions be built into the file?
Unfortunately, no. The STL file itself contains no unit information, only numbers. It’s up to whatever opens it to assign units. The file was created in SolidWorks with inch units.

This appears to be made for the Festool 36 mm dust hose, which is a bit of overkill for the Kreg jig. Would it be possible to get a version sized for the 26 mm hose? Or maybe a file that I can load into Sketchup and modify myself (or is it possible to reverse the STL file for that?).
