007 Fix Wood Knots

Have you ever rummaged through lumber to find more ideal pieces of stock without knots?  Maybe you like the look of knots but that perfect piece has an imperfect knot.  In this episode, I’ll go over how to fill and stabilize knots in wood using a 2 part epoxy injected through a syringe.

    Hi Dee,

I’ve added the link to the dye below the video. You can also get them in different colors to more closely match whatever wood you’re using it with.

To clean up uncured epoxy, you can soak up excess with a rag or towel or suck it back up with another syringe. Just remember whatever you use will now be trash. For remaining residue, use mineral spirits or denatured alcohol. A stronger solvent like acetone can also be used. Test it on some sample material ahead of to ensure it doesn’t affect whatever you’re using it on.

    Good luck

This is very helpful. can you tell me about the dye you use to tint the epoxy and where I can buy it? Also if some goes over the edge can you wipe it with a cloth? What is the best way? thanks.
